Apaar: A Journey Beyond Autism – Support & Solutions

OUR VISION, MISSION AND VALUES

OUR VISION

At Apaar NGO, we envision a world where individuals with autism and intellectual disabilities are accepted, respected, and empowered to live with dignity and independence. A world where they are not judged or excluded, but understood, included, and given equal opportunities to grow, express themselves, and experience happiness.

We strive to create a society where families feel supported, communities are more aware, and every individual can live with confidence, joy, and purpose—because inclusion is not charity, it is a basic human right.

OUR MISSION

We see that persons affected with intellectual disabilities are either home bound, being perceived as a burden to family, or in institutions that are ill equipped to help them realize their full potential. They live life without being able to exercise every human’s universal right – the pursuit of happiness.

I would like you to imagine this for a moment:
You are in a gathering where you cannot talk. People talk above, through, around and even about you. You are ignored like a piece of furniture. Imagine now that you are trying to communicate and making some noises. People are frightened. Someone remarks ( and this happened to a client accompanying his mother for an eye check up visit ) : “ Is it not possible to leave him home with someone ? ”
Societal lack of awareness, apathy, stares — families too hassled to take you out to eat or just out for a drive. And you love eating out, going out for drives, dancing at weddings.

OUR VALUE

At Apaar NGO, our values are the foundation of everything we do and guide our mission to support individuals with autism and their families. We are driven by compassion, ensuring every individual is treated with empathy, kindness, and respect. We believe in inclusion, creating a world where differences are accepted and everyone feels a true sense of belonging, while upholding dignity by respecting each person’s rights and individuality.

We are committed to empowerment, helping individuals build confidence, skills, and independence by focusing on their strengths. Through awareness, we work to break stereotypes and create a more understanding society. We believe in collaboration, working with families and communities to build strong support systems, while always maintaining integrity through honesty, transparency, and trust.
