Who we are

Welcome to Apaar (Altering Perceptions of Autism and Assisting in Rehabilitation.)

APAAR was established in March 2014 in a room in a rented house in Model Town, Jalandhar. Few weeks later we moved to a two storeyed shop in Chhoti Baradari which the owner kindly provided us rent free until July 2015. Since then APAAR has moved back to a tree-lined residential neighbourhood. We dream of working one day in a spacious bungalow to grow a food and fruit garden again.

APAAR is a non-profit located in Jalandhar, Punjab. We have an office with a sheltered workshop in a Leafy locality. APAAR aims to be an oasis that becomes an ocean in Punjab, India and beyond. At Apaar , we envision a world where adults with autism and intellectual disabilities are accepted, respected, and empowered to live with dignity and independence.

A world where they are not judged or excluded, but understood, included, and given equal opportunities to grow, express themselves, and experience happiness. We strive to create a society where families feel supported, communities are more aware, and every individual can live with confidence, joy, and purpose—because inclusion is not charity, it is a basic human right

Apaar – A Helping Hand Together

Apaar is a dedicated non-governmental organization that has been serving the autism community with passion and commitment for the past 10 years. Guided by the belief that “We are a Hand for Autism,” our organization focuses on creating a supportive and inclusive environment for individuals on the autism spectrum and their families. Through our consistent efforts, community engagement, and dedication, we aim to empower families, inspire hope, and build a future where every individual with autism is valued, supported, and given equal opportunities to thrive.
