Family Socials are essential for community and support. The Nandas provide us with their spacious conference room and garden. And APAAR and Sparsh ( a special school for kids with IDD )coordinate a parents’ social periodically since June 2024. On this social, twelve families gathered and APAAR shared information on a communications app ( on ppt). There was a game for all, followed by a discussion of common problems.

About 12 caregivers came. Six of them with kids. One of those Anu arrived on auto with her hyperactive son Anshul who did not sit much . He kept dragging her outside. She fed him a bowl of food as others played games
Ms Shaheen arrived at 1145.
It was very hard. One APAAR mum keeps her phone off and had made tiffin for her son and carried it to the park while we waited at venue. 

All we can say, we tried. Maybe had one hour with all parents, but the Sparsh mothers barely had a peaceful time. We do these events during special school time so mums have protected time off. APAAR moms did. It is sad Sparsh mums hardly gained from this strenuously planned event. APAAR works in superhuman fashion sometimes. God keep us resilient.
