APAAR-DLSA organised this function in Red Cross Bhavan, Jalandhar to raise awareness of Autism and other IDs’. Dr Navneet Bhullar spoke of poor understanding of IDs and mental illness among doctors as well as the public , which is a major barrier to diagnosis and their human right to life and thriving. She pointed to lower  life expectancies of those with ID and mental health disorders due to this public health neglect. There were over 100 paramedical workers in attendance as well as DLSA volunteers and civil society.
